TERRORISM
TERRORISM IS ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEMS FACED BY MANY COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD ,INCLUDING INDIA .
The main objective of terrorism is to induce fear among civilians. The prime target for terrorist attacks are crowded places like metropolitan cities, religious places and tourist areas . Terrorists make use of various means like bombs blasts biological materials, kidnappings and threats of nuclear bombing to create a sense of fear. In some cases, they resort to massacre by shooting openly at crowds.
Terrorism has its impact at multiple levels . Individuals , governments as well as society at larger are affected. In India, the history of terrorism dates back to the last twenty -five years, through the frequency of terrorist attacks has increased in last two years decades.
MEASURES TAKEN BY GOVERNMENT
The government of India has taken various measures of uprooting terrorism:
- social measures : social problem like unemployment, illiteracy, injustice and inequality in society are the main reasons for the people to resort to terrorism. when some sections of society fells that its basic rights are being violated by the government,it may protest violently.such violent activities then,in turns,lead to terrorism.r
- political measures: political problems like (1) Criminalization (2)Unfair use of power (3)corruption & etc. are important factors which lead to terrorism . our government is addressing these issues through trans parent and democratic methods of governance; for example- introducing THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, and etc
- strengthening the police force:The government is strengthening the police force to fight against terrorism .the government has action forces like anti- terrorism squad, national security guard and etc
